Terms of Service
Last updated: October 27, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and My Home ("My Home", "we", "us"), a service based in Fort Worth, Texas. By creating an account or using My Home you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. What My Home is
My Home is an online marketplace where homeowners post home projects and licensed contractors bid for the chance to contact them. We are not a contractor, and we are not a party to any agreement between a homeowner and a contractor. We do not perform, supervise, guarantee or inspect any work, and we do not set prices for work. Any contract, price, schedule, warranty or payment for work is solely between the homeowner and the contractor.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract.
- Give accurate information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Homeowner and contractor accounts are separate. One person or business should not operate multiple accounts to gain an advantage, including to claim extra starter credits or extra bidding positions.
3. Homeowners
- Homeowner accounts are free.
- When you publish a project, it becomes visible to matching contractors without your contact details. Your name, phone, email and address are shared only with the contractors who win a bidding position on that project.
- Do not put phone numbers, email addresses or other private contact details in a project title or description. The service blocks these, and contractors who win your project receive your contact details automatically.
- You decide whom to hire. Check a contractor's license, insurance and references yourself before work begins.
4. Contractors
- You are responsible for holding every license, registration and insurance required to do the work you bid on, including any required by the State of Texas.
- Bidding uses credits. Other contractors cannot see who has bid or what any individual contractor bid, but the app does show you the amount needed to win a position on a project. While positions are open, a new bid must match the highest current bid; once every position is taken, a new bid must beat it. A project has a limited number of positions; the highest bids win, ties go to the earliest bid, and a winning contractor pays the amount of their own bid. Contractors who do not win have their held credits released. Bids can be raised but not lowered. A Fair Access Pass, where offered, is a randomly drawn position that pays the minimum bid. These rules may change; the rules shown in the app when you bid apply to that project.
- Winning a position gives you the homeowner's contact details so you can reach out. It is not a guarantee of being hired.
- Credits during testing: while My Home is in its test period, credits are test credits with no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and may be reset. Terms for buying credits and for any refunds will be shown at checkout before payment is taken, once paid credits are available (decide).
- "Verified" badges show only what we checked: that a license number matched a state lookup, that a business email matched a business website, or that a phone number received a one-time code. They are not an endorsement, a background check, or a guarantee of quality or insurance.
5. Messages and conduct
You agree not to: provide false or misleading information; harass, threaten or discriminate; post unlawful content; spam or send unsolicited promotions; attempt to get around the credit system; scrape or copy the service; interfere with its security; or use it for anything unlawful. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
6. Text-message verification
If you choose to verify a phone number, we send a one-time verification code by text message to that number through our provider. These are not marketing messages. Message and data rates from your carrier may apply. Standard opt-out words such as STOP are honored by our provider. A phone number can be verified on only one account.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post (project descriptions, photos, business profile, messages). You give us permission to store, display and transmit it as needed to run the service, including showing contractor profiles to homeowners and sharing project details with contractors as described above.
8. Disclaimers
My Home is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that any project will receive bids, or that any contractor or homeowner will act honestly, competently or lawfully. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, legality or timeliness of any work, or for disputes between homeowners and contractors.
9. Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, My Home is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
10. Ending your account
You may stop using My Home at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms or put others at risk. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as ownership, disclaimers and liability) continue after an account ends.
11. Changes
We may update these terms as the service grows. The date above shows the latest version. If a change is significant we will tell signed-in users in the app. Continuing to use My Home after a change means you accept it.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Tarrant County, Texas, unless the law requires otherwise (decide).
